A variety of chemical sensing materials and procedures for conveniently detecting mercuric ion (II) (Hg2+) have been extensively explored. The detection challenges accomplishing a simple, fast, low investment procedure at the ultrasensitive level are ongoing. Herein we report quadrillionth Hg2+ by surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technique. There is an interaction silver nanoparticles decorated on zinc-oxide tetrapod structure coated FTO glass (Ag@ZnO-FTO) with organic ligand. 4,4′-Dipyridyl (DPy) performed as being chemisorbed Ag interacting pyridine ring to produce plasmonic hot spots SERS. morphology surface porous becomes powerful platform enhanced SERS performance DPy detection. In absence augmentative electrolyte, enhancement factor more than 107. inhibiting aggregation between was present following appearance Hg2+, demonstrated quenching signal from molecules. capability reproduce selectivity were both demonstrated. addition, applications in natural water beverages successfully detected. These results sensors had potential practical use.
